>The Frieren manga is mediocre
The art is middling, the fights aren't very well fleshed out, but I don't dislike the world it constructs or the way the characters in it look. The story beats that envoke the sense of melancholy, the gentle sadness over the passing of others, and the larger theme of remeberence; the little things that elevate Frieren's Undertaking from something that stands out as a AotY to a AotD, they are to be found in the manga as well.
