Japan is not joining the war. Unless attacked by China first. That is the current plan for the Philippines but just look at this map. Nothing in the Philippines will survive if they decide to join the war.
What will happen is that China will perform customs on Taiwan, and after a few weeks Taiwan bends the knee.
