First thing I do after importing the image is to open it up in the mask editor.
I like to keep my brush opacity low and set the mask layer to negative to make it easier to see the boundaries of where I'm drawing. I find when I'm trying to change just the clothes its best to draw the mask just barely over the edges of the clothes
