The Almighty was a mistake. Yhwach never should've had it much like how Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu is story breakingly overpowered.
If Kyoka Suigetsu turned off when Aizen cuts you then there's a potential angle there, like how Kenpachi dealt with Tosen's bankai.
But what we got with both Almighty and Kyoka Suigetsu leaves no room for failure outside of literal mental retardation and both characters who have the power are intelligent.

Lame cope but even then have it be the Soul King's power and Yhwach slowly awakens it after he absorbs the Soul King's remains leaving Ichigo and friends in a race against time to take down Yhwach before he becomes unstoppable after fully awakening The Almighty.
