Nigga, why don't you look up the production history of pic related and see how much the animators working on it were obviously enjoying themselves. If they could have that with ACTUAL cel animation, there's no reason the current generation of Japanese animators can't have it now. The problem's not the technology or the methods used, the problem is Japan's toxic work culture.
