The first time I stepped out of the crystal tunnel and beheld the ruined, twisted landscape outside was one of those memorable gaming moments that will remain in my memory for the rest of my life. It's when I realized ER wasn't just 'open-world Dark Souls', but rather a grand fusion of previously established Miyazakian themes and concepts, including the cosmic horror of Bloodborne. Pure cinema.
