They were disposable henchemen general at the end, hell, in the original Sailor moon anime, the first one, because remember that in japan there are no seasons, but different Sailor moon shows, Original, R, S, Super S, Stars and Crystal, original had that improvised ending because Toei pulled a dick move and told the maker team the show was cancelled and had no idea if they were goin beyond, because the manga and anime we're almost simultaneously, that's why we got that "rewind" ending in the first series and the 2nd one cheap out by getting the girls back their memories, so technically the events got either reconned or just forgotten.

Then again this is the show with Disposable McGuffin of the season that gets replaced and forgotten.

Geez, this is why, as tedious as it was with Filler and Pacing, Dragonball had a sense of ongoing storytelling, but BanDai has a damn fetish for episodic garbage and yearly disposable protagonists with wasted or chained potential.
