short answer why is that nonwhites do not care about, or know how to distinguish between, the various european ethnicities and larger groups like nordics, celtics, etc. but ideally nobody should be identifying as american (or canadian) because it's a fake ethnicity. not even "native american" really means anything because there were many different tribes. identifying as white gets you absolutely nothing, and that's why white nationalism always fails. whites have no homeland because "europe" is not a single country. we need an international movement of diaspora europeans. let american and all other new world identities die, unless maybe you have indigenous ancestry like the peruvians.
