Not really. SSR overwhelmed Vegeta initially, but once Vegeta learned how to do quick switching between SSG and SSB to save stamina (Since SSB in the manga is really bad at conserving it for some reason), he got the advantage once again.

Both versions have this "Zamasu was getting used to Goku's body" thing, and, again, manga at least has Zenkais too (even if it makes no sense).

In the anime, SSR is not SSB, but Black's version of Super Saiyan, so I guess that's why he could go SSR2 and SSR3... It's still silly though.
