No, a Murim is a bit more higher powered than the standard Wuxia in China from the get go but doesn't ramp up super high either usually so no world ending super powers of Xianxia typically unless its a Cultivation story however its basically the same idea, take historical Korean setting like the three kingdoms, add in fantasy elements, taoist cultivation to it and some buddhist/shamanist shit, heavenly and demonic paths clans of cultivation that usually screw with each other and you got Murim.
