Also, I guarantee that this exploit was discovered by a White guy just poking around to see how shitty the jeetcode was. I was in Math/Trig class, my junior year of high school. We had "morning meeting" and school was dismissed after one more class iirc. (I went to an NJ prep school and many of us had families tied to NYC finance. AMA if you want.)

Correct. September 11th put us into a new era. The powers that be miscalculated the Cold War: the USSR disintegrated about a decade earlier than planned. Without the USSR but still tooled for the Cold War, we Americans found ourselves in a strange "gap time" or interregnum of era.
Think of the 1990s as a decade of Summertime. The Gulf War victoey was so lopsided and absolute that it shocked even established guys like GHWB (who incidentalll did not want to go to war at first.) As Americans, we were beyond optimistic. Keep in mind, we were still overwhelmingly White (especially outside of a handful of cities; in fact, we still had White cities like Houston.) While it is true that industry had been shifting towards Asia and we were being sold out since the 1970s, most White people were doing well. (I'm not trying to downplay the social harms from plants/mills shutting down. Indeed, this pain took time to really hit hard- which was just in time for the GWOT. "Your factory town dead, goyim?
