HEY GUIZ, is anyone interested in doing a virtual meetup on August 9? I was thinking we could have a special website, where anyone interested in food and/or cooking could get together at noon on the Big Day, regardless of physical location.

Instead of bringing food, you could just create your own discussion zone at the virtual meetup, to share what you are cooking are eating, and other people could comment. You could even post pictures! If you want to keep things "local", you could create a discussion zone about food in your local area! Or if you just want to talk about food or cooking generally, or even food-related entertainment, you could create a separate discussion zone (or "thread") for that too.

Just think about it, you would get all the benefits of a physical meetup, but you wouldn't have to risk meeting stinky 4chan pervert creeps..... and you wouldn't have to worry about the meetup organizer leaving after five minutes to go eat Chinese food with a transsexual prostitute.

I mean, when you think about it, if we could do a virtual meetup on the intarwebs, why would anyone bother meeting in person at all? (Except for pedophile groomers, of course.) Wow, TECHNOLOGY, amirite?
