Depends on the point of view. FGO brings that different aged versions of the same servants exist under a tradeoff. Younger servants may wield less power, but the difference in age influences their instincts, creativity and the like.
Both Lancers seem to be better brute servants than their Saber counterparts as they get extra boost to Mana and Luck from the Farthest Ends via Rhongomyniad. And through her past, Rhongomyniad tends to finish the job Excalibur fails (they both have seals but Merlin alludes that Rhongomyniad is more convenient), I think they lost some versatility in the process though.
Lancer Alter has the highest Mana Burst, but is an overall colder, nearly unfeeling person person as if somewhat hollow, her Instincts are likely dulled even more than Saber Alter. Normal Lancer has some better all-around stats with a bunch of As but even she, that isn't tainted, has a lower luck at C. So she'd temporarily reach Saber's Luck via the blessing, meaning she might get herself in a worse situation against sure-kill and aimboot attacks that Saber could deal with.
