Where I'm at now, I smash through any crowded encounters with Shiki's spinning kick AOE move, and boss fights firing non stop projectiles with Y as Hermit.
For me it the combat just "gets the job done", I do enjoy the quests and it feels like you could do everything in about 25 hours so it won't overstay its welcome.
