It is. It ended last June and ran for six years, just a few chapters short of Rave. It's pretty good, I'd say. You could even play the game itself if you wanted, since it starts from chapter 1 and goes up to around chapter 100 (I think).
He's also been doing another manga called Dead Rock, which has been running monthly for two years now. And he's been storyboarding a sequel manga for Fairy Tail that's been releasing every two weeks.

I played the demo when it came out, and I appreciate that they're trying to make it fun and give it some love with all the outfits and panty shots and whatnot, but all the actual gameplay was a slog. Does the combat get better/upgraded or something? It was slow as hell and made that first boss fight against the king even worse

I just bought the Deluxe version after finishing the demo. Runs flawlessly on high with my AMD 5800X3D and 6700XT using Proton on Manjaro. The demo runs great on my machine, I enjoyed the demo, why the fuck not. If i spent the rest of the day, I might not find another game I enjoy.

I feel like Hiro Mashima was very involved in this game. All the outfits, uncensored panyshots, gameplay being good, open world scenery being good. People need to remember their censorship lore. The thing that really started the censorship debacle was Omage Labyrinth. That was the one game that sparked the trend with it being banned by the UK ratings board. That event lit a fire under Sony's ass and had them terrified of getting shit for the games on their platform and started getting trigger happy with everything. I wondered if this would get threads on /v/. I like Hiro Mashima's stuff. Rave Master was his best work. Fairy Tail fell flat about 60% of the way through, and I know nothing about Eden Zero. I've heard mixed things. Some tell me it's better than Fairy Tail, so that's nice to know if it's true.

I do like that they went the JRPG type route with this game instead of a musou or arena fighter. The Fairy Tale "RPG" was fucking awful. I didn't even buy the "sequel" so I don't know if it was any better. The first one was fucking awful. It had this grid-based combat system with turn-based combat, and I didn't like it. I know this game has an open combat style almost similar to a musou, but you can actually go to other planets/worlds, explore, do quests, level up, get better gear, etc. That's really what I wanted from the Fairy Tail game and it was nothing like that.

That's depressing, but they might be planning on other games. The Fairy Tail game just got it's "sequel" after FIVE years. The first one came out in 2020. It's just sad because if they go the sequel route then you might not get the next game for several years. I don't understand why they only cover the first 1/3 of the story? I was fooled hard by the Fairy Tail game. I remember when it was announced and thought "OH SHIT FAIRY TAIL VIDEO GAME LET'S GOOOO" and it was the most disappointing shit. Some other anons in the thread think they might be dividing it up into multiple games, like one anon said this game covers the first 1/3 of the series, so not even halfway. There is also a timeskip that takes place eventually in the series.

If you look at the Fairy Tail game, it launched in 2020 and the sequel launched this year in 2025, so it took five years to get a sequel to that game. What's funny though is I think the sequel goes to the end of the series, and the first game covered the first half of the series I believe, so they covered the entire series in two games. I'm not sure how much stuff was skipped over/cut out though in the Fairy Tail games. It felt like the first game was heavily rushed.

I watched some stuff from the second game and it's completely different, like a new battle system and new things were put into it, so it looks like a completely different game compared to the first one.

I'm having a problem with my controller. It seems that no matter what I do the controller glyphs don't appear (only keyboard). Someone else seemed to have this issue as well. >The EZ crew gets hired by a woman named Maruha, who's a veteran of the Shooting Starlight guild. She sends them on a mission to stop criminals who are inexplicably appearing on Blue Garden, even ones who are supposed to be dead (basically, every boss you fight in the game).
>The culprit is a man named Submerge, who uses an EG called Dream Catcher that takes figures from people's nightmares and embeds them in androids to turn them real. His most powerful creation is a fake, evil version of Natsu.
