Please go and ask Eastasiasoft how releasing Tokyo Clanpool went for them. Hint: they said their best estimates for it are merely breaking even.

It's a Nintendo thing. Multiple publishers have come forth and said it's Nintendo pushing new content policies.
>There's other games on Switch that aren't censored
Yeah, and Sony still sells the old Senran Kagura games. Doesn't mean they'll let any new ones on their system.

And got completely banned from Steam as well. The publisher is one of the staunchest pro-fanservice in the industry and even they are saying these games are borderline impossible to release any more. And it all started with Snoy moving to California, getting staffed with Californians, and then implementing California liberal morality in their content guidelines.

There is no real difference as the games just aren't being made any more because no commercially viable platform will host them. Senran Kagura, Gal*Gun, Omega Labyrinth, Bullet Girls, Dungeon Travelers, Genkai Tokki, etc., they're all dead because of this. No entries in any of those series have been released past 2020 except Gal*Gun which was only a remaster/remake of the first game. Even the most stalwart advocates of fanservice in the industry are throwing in the towel because of how bad it's gotten.

EAS failing to uphold their promise of making a patch so far does not mean they'd randomly just fucking ban their own game from the west or censor it in the east. This is flat earther level of delusion.

Nintendo has been known to censor Asia and Japan-only games as well, especially in the last year. They also recently admitted to journalists they've updated their guidelines and no longer go off rating boards. I would keep your faith in them to a minimum.
>Many of the new guidelines discuss “sensitive content,” and include specific rules for what qualifies as sensitive content in the first place. Listed criteria that “would be considered damaging to the Nintendo brand” include sexualization of children, overly sexual content, discrimination and hate, exploitation of social issues (“Content that clearly exploits a topical and controversial social issue, tragedy, or catastrophic event”), instructing criminal activity, and political statements (“Content that overtly supports or criticizes real-life countries, organizations, or ideologies”). Nintendo states in the guidelines that it reserves the right not to distribute a game, but claims it offers the guidelines to help developers understand its reasoning in certain situations.

These are specifically said to be for Asia too. The western ones are not stated, but are shown to be even worse.

That's just a band-aid on the issue. Nintendo and Steam banned it completely while GOG only took the censored version. What kind of message do you think that's sending to the publishers? I'll tell you what it is, because they said it themselves: "We can't deal in this kind of game any more".

Yes they are. They've also doubled down on DEI despite how unpopular it is and Trump running on opposing it.

They attempted to self-censor for Steam and still got denied. They planned an uncensored release for Switch only for Nintendo to cockblock them too. So they were stuck with GOG who as it turns out also wouldn't take the uncensored game. That's a taste of what moe otaku ecchi games have to deal with in current year. The publisher even stated they're basically tapping out of doing them because the industry environment has made them almost impossible to release let alone turn a profit. Now Dragami games is doing an updated rerelease of LoveR Kiss later this year with English options; don't be surprised if it gets screwed just as badly. The entire situation has created an atmosphere of FUD that's also likely contributing to depressing sales.

i very clearly remember the >>715201634 image and picrel being happily used to fearmonger about how nintendo was censoring and banning games even in japan now
you can even see that if you look up the hashes on the archives, in fact
what a coincidence they suddenly no longer count when it turns out CH already released games without issues and the "issues" only started to come up when they wanted to grift people into buying SLS

As an addendum, the publisher said Tokyo Clanpool came within a hair's breadth of just being completely canceled because of how much difficulty platforms were giving them. So consider that a worst case scenario. The system is completely broken. It was mostly unheard of for games that already passed ESRB/PEGI/CERO standards to be censored this way throughout the 2000s and 2010s, yet now it's commonplace and especially for Japanese games. Who let these platforms implement these policies? Why are they being allowed to get away with it? They shouldn't be allowed. "Private company" my fucking ass, not when you're squatting on 90% of the market and no one can feasibly compete with you, you should have an obligation to give development partners a fair shake.

The original version also had touching features; you could poke the girls during conversations, and only in the Switch version, you could touch their breasts as well. This is a feature I am 99% confident will be removed at least from this new Switch version. We have several confirmed cases from last year where similar touching features were censored out of Switch versions of games, including Maid of the Dead, Prison Princess Trapped Allure, and Tokyo Clanpool. Again, you guys need to tell Dragami to consider releases on otaku-catered PC storefronts to sidestep the inevitable. Because this game's audience is acutely attuned to when censorship is happening now, they WILL notice, and they will tank this game's word of mouth and its sales if there is no proper uncensored version available on release or close to it. Just look at what happened to Eastasiasoft and Tokyo Clanpool when they were caught off-guard by these new-ish restrictions Nintendo and Steam are pushing.

>During all of this you still had games like Samurai Maiden still giving JK panties. Hell even every Nep still gives upskirts and panties
Both of those are neutered compared to past output, and it's not hard to see why when they targeted Playstation.
>Korea was able to make the biggest coomerge of the decade WITH sony money
It still got fucking censored on release. I swear people REALLY HAVE forgotten just how huge of a controversy that was. And even uncensored it's nowhere NEAR as lewd as a Senran Kagura or later Gal*Gun game. Bad example, there.
Are you aware that someone tried to publish Tokyo Clanpool, an actual Vita game complete with ecchi rubbing minigame last year? You know what happened to it? Banned from Steam, censored by Nintendo and banned from a western release, AND censored by FUCKING GOG! That's THREE (3) different storefronts in three different countries that refused to sell an unneutered Vita game. And it's not even the most risque of Compile Heart's offerings from that era. Imagine what something like fucking Castle Panzers or a new Senran Kagura would go through. ESG is making the big corps self-censor, yes, but the littler guys that are primarily responsible for games like these? They're cowed by the threat of deplatforming. In the face of all this, what the hell do you expect them to do? They literally can't make what they used to because it'll just get blocked by every fucking platform. You HAVE to do something about these corporate platforms being allowed to just pull the rug on small developers for "brand protection" reasons if you want these games to come back.

They're enforcing them in Japan/Asia too (e.g, Tokyo Clanpool, Prison Princess Trapped Allure, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs Steam Maze), just a bit less stringently. Senran Kagura may not be able to release on Switch at all, not even in Japan. This also means you can put aside any idea that they're doing this because of SB20 or some other US law, they're doing it because they're compromised internally by Jewish investors and their accomplices in GR/management.

Google and Apple are somehow less retarded and anti-anime than all of Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft AND Valve. It's the only reason gacha has been getting away with content that would get a retail game banned from every major storefront like Tokyo Clanpool.

No, but you can judge by how they're handling similar games, Tokyo Clanpool being the standout example of a Vita ecchi moege that tried to release recently. Banned from Steam, censored by Nintendo and banned from a global release, and censored by GOG (and Playstation and Xbox were of course never even considered). That's the kind of trials you can expect any new Senran Kagura game to have to go through now. And Tokyo Clanpool was being handled by a publisher that has been staunchly pro-fanservice throughout the years, and even they are at the end of their rope, Now imagine what Marvelous thinks.

All this is ignoring that even the Asia/Japan approval process has issues. I already said how three different games released last year by three different devs/publishers were censored specifically on Switch despite only going through a Japan/Asia release approval. Something like Shinovi or Estival Versus, or Senran Kagura Reflexions would not be able to release on Switch today, period. In any region. Eastasiasoft said in no uncertain terms that if they did not remove Ether Induction from Tokyo Clanpool, Nintendo would have banned the release entirely. It's gotten to a point where Sony looks good next to them, and that's terrible news for something like Senran Kagura.
