you're right and i've always thought and said the same thing.

there's a free version with online so people can try it / play it for free
it's a very beautiful looking game (devs said they were inspired by modern guilty gear's look)
the lobby is absolutely cute
there is tons of content besides the normal 1v1 with someone online, a lot of value
the netcode is good
the music is good
the animation is good
it's still getting support
it's easier to play so i feel like i'm fighting the opponent more than the game itself, but still has some standard fighting game depth and difficulty

it had some issues earlier like 66L being a bit too strong and some balance issues, but i think those have been addressed since. right now i think the balance is overall good in that everyone is pretty playable. you're going to have characters worse than others because that's just the nature of it, but the "bad" characters feel like they are still perfectly capable of getting wins.

it's the best current fighting game but sadly everyone ignores it because it's not street fighter or tekken. it feels like the devs put a lot of love and effort in the game to make it feel somewhat greater than the sum of its parts.
