Fighters are, for most people, a dabbling genre. They buy one to have fun with for a little while and then move on. They might comeback for a new character or if the mood strikes them but they will eventually leave again. That’s why the skill floor has been lowered across the board: it makes this behavior much easier to do. It’s just unfortunate that the methods used to lower the floor lowered the ceiling right along with it.
It’s funny, for years so many FGCfags debated over how to get more people into fighting games, from improving tutorials to better netcode to more marketing, and how making the games easier didn’t work until everyone did exactly that and it worked.
Sucks for the genre overall but the FGC is so fucking dumb that watching them eat shit is always funny.

To be fair it’s because all the super popular male characters are already in the game. Women/fujos really focused in hard on the angels (Sandalphon is the most popular Granblue character period), the knights, and Seofon. Seofon is the only one not in the game and will probably sell the third season pass by himself like Sandy did for season 2.
There are a lot more popular females even if none of them are AS popular individually as the male characters. I expect Aliza and a female Harvin minimum next season. Maybe Jeannu too. Or Silva.

The obvious answer is to buy dlc characters that you are interested in. Unless you want to go pro and need them to lab stuff, there is no reason to buy any of them if you don't want to play them.
The pass overall gives you the most amount of content for the least amount of money, if you care about getting all of the characters. Doubt the dlc characters will ever go on sale individually.

There is just no good anwser to it. DP or dodge right after it is a literal coin toss and just sitting there blocking will get you mixed up eventually.
66M and 66H are good enough if they really wanted a "skip neutral" tool because those actually are high risk high reward, but with 66L there is literally no reason to not just spam it.
Even 2B who doesn't have any dash attacks is one of the better characters so there is no real need for 66L, it's just there to make the game frustrating.

I kind of wish meter gain wasn't so high in this game. It gets tedious if you wind up seeing 2 supers every round for all 3 rounds.

it's easier to play so i feel like i'm fighting the opponent more than the game itself, but still has some standard fighting game depth and difficulty

it had some issues earlier like 66L being a bit too strong and some balance issues, but i think those have been addressed since. right now i think the balance is overall good in that everyone is pretty playable. you're going to have characters worse than others because that's just the nature of it, but the "bad" characters feel like they are still perfectly capable of getting wins.

it's the best current fighting game but sadly everyone ignores it because it's not street fighter or tekken. it feels like the devs put a lot of love and effort in the game to make it feel somewhat greater than the sum of its parts.

Vanilla GBVS was the most perfect fighting game ever. Actual neutral, felt like SF but with anime fighter elements that blended well, simple inputs for people that wanted them but actually rewarded using motion inputs. People will counter with stuff like balance issues but what fucking fighting game doesn't have balance issues? The important part is that the foundation was so good.

Don't get me wrong, I like Rising but I'll still never understand why they felt the need to change what was already great. Now Rising has the same cracks in its foundation as every other modern fighter.

Cygames has a great world like Granblue but besides the fighting game they won't do anything with it. Relink was too much of a dev hell for them to follow up with it. I can't even imagine them doing a Granblue gacha follow-up, especially with Shadowverse's new game being a dumpster fire.

Music is always tuned and directed but this game sounds like ratchets and pots were commanded to crash into each other endlessly.
Sound effects should enhance an action and invite repeated attempts of them, not shave off your willingness to fight.
Character designs are simply hideous and nauseously ornate.
I understand this game is weapon based and most of characters use them but it's no excuse to chop off animation frames.
Gameplay is less a battle of wits and more a battle of resource management.

Why won't the characters shut the fuck up before during and after they fight? Is it a dance?
