thats the primary inspiration. I was kind of in the high-end redstone world around 2018. In other factory games, you just plop down a "makes block X" machine. In minecraft you have to spend 100 hours messing with update order and monster spawning mechanics to design a machine
Roody:2d is supposed to be like that technical minecraft build-huge-auto-farms thing, but you aren't actively fighting against the game mechanics

since I started Roody:2d in 2019, the create mod released, minecraft added the autocrafter, zachtronics kind of disbanded?, and I've recently heard about the existence of sandustry
but I still think Roody:2d serves its niche.
unfortunately "aren't actively fighting against the game mechanics" means its has to be more or less perfect. fortunately in the past 2 years the todo list has been shrinking faster than it has been growing. I feel like i could finish it in 3 months if i quit my job.
