Capitalism is but one mechanism of conflict/struggle with generates change. It CAN be slowed down by supressing competition (that is, by supressing the struggle itself).
But I sense that what OP is truly against isn't even capitalism itself, but the degeneration of man, capitalism would be fine if it didn't bring with it the obsolescence of mankind.
There was an ideal that man could retain both its civilized and primordial nature. That capital and technology could exist alongside man without causing its degeneation, without erasing its predatorial strength and vitality. This idea, however, died in 1945.
Rather than clinging to utopian delusions, linear views, the idea of the 'end of history,' or visions of societies without conflict or scarcity, I'd say we should accept the fact that life is eternal struggle and societies with limited resources and natural human inequality are bound to create hierarchies (the natural basis for civilization). That instead of running away from conflict, the mechanism by which all things are born, one should embrace it in all dimensions of life (economic, political, cultural, racial, etc.). To not fight against change, but instead to fight against degeneration itself, to fight for the propagation of higher, superior forms. The quintessential logic of eugenics, but applied to other spheres of human life, until the extirpation of all that is low. That's "what is to be done".
