my average seems to be 7-8 years of pretty solid friendship followed by one or both of us diverging whether it be personality, real life shit, hobbies etc we just don't click anymore. the worst one is prob when a buddy got a night shift job and wanted me to play at like midnight when I had a job that started at 7 am. sorry man life put us on different trajectories. could be worse but I do wonder about some of the old friendships especially irl from college.
