How many cases are there of a fighter losing one engine and making it back?
Twin engine designs are often favored for supposedly having greater suitability but wonder how often it matters in practice. Engines are pretty sturdy until a certain point where damage becomes catastrophic. Seems more likely that if something takes out one engine, it is probably downing the aircraft. Especially when they are positioned so close together (which is ironically done because being close to the center reduces the performance impact of losing one). There was that time an F-15E crashed from inhaling a bird into one engine.
