well the power draw is technically a little lower but if you add performance into the equation the thin client does more work per watt so really depends on if you are doing some minimal load all the time or actually need performance. In the latter case the PI would be actually more wasteful than the thin client.

Arm is not really weird nowdays. People even use their phones as servers.
I'd say getting some risc-v board would be a lot cooler.
