Wizardry 1-3 came out in 1981, and except for some of the final floors it tries to mirror what could conceivably be real world floor plans, which japanese crawlers never do. I expect games to improve over time, not get exponentially worse. This isn't really debatable, these games have objectively bad maps for boring and easily entertained people.
