There are many ways a society of high-level wizards might look, and the "old bearded sage" archetype is by far the least likely.
First, it assumes that a being close to godhood would care about mundane conventions or looking “wise” to gain respect, as if such a wizard would need such tricks.
Second, it supposes that in a society where shapeshifting magic and rejuvenation magic is a thing, the association "old bearded guy / wisdom" exists, which is wrong, because in such society, “wisdom” would be tied to whatever form powerful wizards chose to adopt, which has low chances of being "old decrepit fuck". Children tales wouldnt feature your usual wise mentor as a bearded old guy, but maybe as someting completely different, and it would be that cliché which would shape the way people envision powerful individuals, not the opposite.
The first hypothesis is that high level wizards would look like whatever idea they have of peak health. That would range from your effeminate little twink to your muscular gigachad, but it wouldn't, or very rarely, include your typical Gandalf look because looking old is a very peculiar idea of looking healthy.
Second, and most likely hypothesis, is that an assembly of high level wizards would look like pic related, because only two types of people can become high level wizards due to the inherent level of danger involved in the profession and the eldritchness of the topics studied: 1) Those who have managed to develop a mindset alien enough along their career 2) Those who started their career with a completely alien mindset. The others either die before they reach this level, get stuck at lower level and more "human mindset compatible topics of study", or end up in a mental institution. So your typical high level wizard would look like a sentient swarm of blue jellyfishes and only other high level wizards have a chance of understanding his motivations, which are completely above what a non-high level wizard can grasp.
