I doubt Mitsoda was fucking Ellison, but the rest is true. What's frustrating is that there used to be a Glassdoor review of Paradox by someone who almost certainly Ellison that gave some sense of how things were going.
>Mitsoda is all passion, pitches the project to Paradox the second they get the rights (normally a publisher will ask for submissions)
>Paradox are impressed, Mitsoda has perfect tenure, great. Basically give him carte blanche to do what he wants and, hey even better, he knows a studio already!
>Paradox kick back and let the magic happen
>....Hardsuit have never worked on anything larger than a simple FPS expansion. This is a AAA RPG. They get a solid budget though, so they start speed hiring whoever they can for crap pay
>most new hires are from the local community college video games course
>because Mitsoda is the most legit thing about the game, Paradox constantly want him doing press. He fucking hates it because he's an introverted writer and quest designer.
>but he has good ideas and vision, so it's an easy win for PR
>unfortunately, basically no one else at Hardsuit knows dick about designing an RPG. Every new hire is writing spaghetti code and being paid peanuts. When they leave, the next hire has to sort out this spaghetti code until they too quit
>Paradox are barely paying attention....until the Cechnyan Gay Purge Blood Farm incident
>suddenly they REALLY care...for a bit
>head of the company is set to move soon, isn't too pushed
>when he's replaced, the new head starts taking a hatched to floundering projects
>sees that Bloodlines 2 is a money hole, decides to shake it up
>micro manages, annoys everyone at the studio and doesn't help the situation
>decides she should start firing people
>what about this Mitsoda guy? He's in the press, maybe she should fire him? That'll fix the game!
>it doesn't, game's still fucked
>hires different company men to get it over the line
>the can't
>whole pojrect is taken away
>Hardsuit folds
