Last year I bought a nice high quality beach umbrella with an all metal mechanism to dig in the sand. We had no issues.
This year a friendly couple bought a "popup tent" because it's easier to pack and it withstands strong gusts of wind better.
So now we must also buy "popup tent" too. But a popup tent needs a fabric to put underneath. You need a pillow. You need thicker cotton beach towels to cushion, can't do it with the microfiber ones.
