i ran this lot of parts for an hp research engineer. they were some kind of solder test blocks with preapplied coating. had some rough +2/-0 tolerances and a real asshole feature of a blind 6-32 @80% thread tapped .700 deep in a .750 deep hole. it was ofhc copper and had to be run dry to not spoil the coating. total suckfest and i charged accordingly as he told me several shops had already struck out or no quoted
got it done and he came to get the parts. so i asked why the fuck that hole had to be tapped so deep and full thread?
he looks at me cross eyed and says
>i dont know. its only for a screw on a test lead connection. i just clicked the tapped hole feature in solidworks
