fully agree. the lighting is objectively better in hibike but is somehow less effective, and i don't really know why. perhaps it detracts from the moment whereas in k-on it's more understated yet more powerful. i also think lighting was used very well in haruhi, some scenes felt like a humid mirage more than anything
