If you allow banking you will always have ((("backing"))). Which enables fictional backing and fictional legal tender creation. Which causes inflation, deindustrialisation, outsourcing/offshoring and societal decline.
However, even if you do not allow fictional legal tender creation (no banking whatsoever), you still have the other problems of societies with monetary systems:
1. real economic activity not performed due to lack of or insufficient funds.
2. real economic activity not performed due to lack of or insufficient financial profitability.
3. parasitism paid for by people gaming the monetary system to gain monetary units / legal tender amount not in exchange for actual real labour or contributions to the social order.
Moreover, financial profits cannot exist without perpetual geometric growth of the supply of legal tender. Which is not possible except by allowing fictional legal tender to be created and spent as if it existed, and at an ever accelerating rate.
Which causes perpetual inflation which causes shrinkflation, enshittification, outsourcing, offshoring, deindustrialization, dependency on imports etc.
The only way forward is to move past money and to a proof of work system.
People aren't ready to accept this yet. They don't even understand it.
