Wisconsin has been found guilty of 139 minor recruiting violations. In addition to one year of probationary status, the coaches are prohibited from recruiting during a week period at the height of recruiting season. The program also must pay a laughably small token fine of $25,000.
USC's Director of Personnel, Max Stienecker, was also hit with a one year show cause penalty for his part in the violations while at Wisconsin.
The violations were discovered by Wisconsin's compliance staff, who reported the school to the NCAA.
