Similar stuff happened at Morris Brown College in Atlanta. They hired a female president, she went on a crazy spending spree, even having a statute of herself made. The school went bankrupt, lost its accreditation, and had to sell off most of its buildings. Enrollment fell to a couple dozen students. Eight million in federal funds went missing. The president and director of financial aid (an Indian) were indicted. The president said she had sleep apena so she didn't understand what she was doing. She receive no jail time and five years of probation because most of the spending, even the statue of herself, were deemed to have been for the benefit of the school. Fittingly, she was a graduate of the University of Michigan.
The school's 15,000 seat football stadium was used for field hockey in the 1996 Summer Olympics and some scenes in one of the Revenge of the Nerds sequels. Today the school has regained its accreditation and has about 4000 students.

All eight members of the new Pac-12 have signed their Grant of Rights and membership agreements, a conference spokesperson tells Yahoo Sports
It is a signal that the league is finalizing a new media rights package that is expected in the coming days.
The media rights package is expected to feature as many as four different partners, sources tell Yahoo Sports
The package paves the way for the league to formally offer invitations to expansion targets. The conference needs one full-time, FB-playing member to reach FBS minimum

Once Memphis sees the PAC 12 payout they might want in
They are rumored to be in the mix for PAC 12
>>149091499Get back to work, Kevin
>>149092744A decade or so ago, the founder of FedEx promised to sink Phil Knight levels of money into Memphis athletics if they got into a P5 conference. Somehow I suspect he's not going to do that for the nuPAC. That aside, it might still be a good move for Memphis as it's doubtful any P4 is going to take them unless it's in danger of no longer existing without back fill.
>>149095125Why doesn't memepiss go to the big east and just join the pac in football? Then add tx state and bingo you have a conference

>>149090225He is an accomplice in the SCOTUS case that legalized NIL.
>>149095654That's close to what UConn does, with most of their sports in the Big East but indy in football. Pairing Memphis up with Gonzaga to create a full member would smooth out some edges. If Texas State joins to get the conference to the NCAA minimum, I do wonder if they'd want to bother with Memphis as an associate member to get a ninth football team.
I like nine members as it lets teams play four home conference game and four away conference games each season, seeing every member in their stadium every other year. Probably the biggest issue is the $20 million exit fee to the AAC, especially after paying the Sun Belt's $8 million for Texas State. Beyond Memphis, I doubt we'll see schools like Tulane or USF join. The small step up from the AAC probably wouldn't be worth the distances involved. As football only members? Maybe but that would require somewhere for the rest of their sports. Memphis is already a stretch for the Big East but Tulane does fit in well with the other private Catholic schools and USF gives the conference a presence in Florida. At twenty million each for exit fees, it would be difficult for the PAC and the schools to justify.
How long can UConn last as a football independent? They're never going to join a G5 that requires them to put their basketball program in the conference.
>>149100904Why do they even have a football team?
>>149100904They'll get into either the ACC or the Big 12 as backfill after the next round of realignment

It's where kids go who can't get into the flagships and don't have the money for Baylor or don't want to live in Waco (which is reasonable). Texas State has threatened to take over their position as the also-ran institution in the state, thanks to their previous reputation as Southwest Texas party capital USA and proximity to civilization (and Austin) and if they go to the PAC I suspect tacofags will summon the ghost of Bob Bullock to try to sue their asses over something or other.
Tacoanon in this thread hypes up a recent grad who made it big flipping mineral rights and scamming old people, but a singular donor needs Nike money and connections to keep an athletic department running so he switched tactics. He made a big campaign donation to Trump, like 25 million per gossip, so look for him to be on some committee in the near future and to do everything he can to fuck over the SEC.

>>149126559Taxpayers. There's a fund in the state called the PUF, if you've been around in these threads it's been discussed before. It was set up way back in the 19th century and is part of the constitution since some Frenchfag had his nuts up in a bunch about education (pic related) but knew that Texasfags were poor as shit so they set aside a whole bunch of land to lease out and pay for the Texas University System. This is why aggiefags call University of Texas "tu", it used to be Texas University and A&M was a part of it. The technical school (A&M) got a third and the big school (Texas) got the rest. This has stayed the same after the two schools split.
Taco and Houston have been pissed about this for decades and recently managed to get a PUF of their own that is however much money. I think it's like 900 million or something split equally across the Texas State, Taco, and Houston systems and whoever else. Lamar (pic related's namesake that turned into a black school after the 70s, it actually used to be a good school back when your dad was a kid). Houston also has had a lot of rich Rice grads give them a lot of money over the years since that's where the minorities go. UTSA is part of University of Texas, so that's where they get their money.

They bought themselves because Baylor is a Baptist school who wouldnโt let the med school not be Baptist and it was causing them to lose out on government funding. Baylor forced them to keep the name โBaylorโ so they could try to leech some credibility, but it got so bad that the faculty at the med school threatened to walk out and open their own. State got involved, a little bit, so the โcompromiseโ was that they keep the name Baylor.
Not too long after that, law schools started picking up in Texas. Pretty much everyone has one now, A&M bought some Lutheran private school up in Dallas and turned it into their own law school.
>>149136978This same process turned all healthcare in America into shit. When hospitals were Christian institutions everything was cheap and the focus was genuinely on helping people. Now itโs just about maximum billing your insurance and not getting sued
>>149137247Baylor College of Medicine operates Texas Childrenโs, which is a nonprofit. All the good hospitals in Texas are entirely nonprofit and religious-affiliated. The Methodists and Catholics operate the two big state chains, Memorial-Hermann is secular but also nonprofit though located from Houston to Beaumont. I think. The baptists operate one in Beaumont, or at least they used to back in the day.
Think youโre missing the forest for the trees on this one.
>>149137247Allowing (((shareholders))) to operate in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, housing, farming, food manufacturing and prison industries is clown world nonsense that actively harms regular people to line richfag pockets. That shit would be outlawed in a healthy country.
>>149137548Modern "nonprofit" hospitals are often just as aggressive as any for profit business. Both in terms of expansion and pricing. I have heard cases of non-profit hospitals buying out competitor hospitals and forming little monopolies all over the place.
>>149137577I dont agree on pharmaceuticals that is an area that requires innovation. Also farming is pretty fucking iffy thats basically textbook communism if you say that the government should own all the farms. You really introduce fragility into the food supply if you want let some retarded beurocrat dictate farming practices to the whole country. If they are wrong people just starve. pic related
I do agree in spirit that ultimately the government needs to manage all the arterial type systems that are vital to the people it just makes sense. And even something like Amazon has become vital to the nation and the government should probably have a controlling interest in it. Basically the chinese system (which is fascism) just wins and should be copied everywhere.
>>149137836I'm not saying these fields should be entirely government owned (except prisons, it's fucked to give profit incentives to incarceration). I'm saying publicly traded companies either shouldn't be allowed to operate in them or should have severe regulations placed on them if they are involved. There is a way to balance profit with what the country needs but the scales are entirely tipped in favor of profit.
Privately/family owned companies or charities should handle these industries. Pharmaceutical R&D would have better results (both outcome and consumer pricing) if it was handled by the federal government and university partnerships instead of big corporations looking to maximize profits.
>>149138017Even with universities though. Even the entirely state owned ones seem to act with a profit motive just as hard as privately owned ones. Its hard to imagine what incremental changes could take place to make the government be competent and efficient. I think a place like china only really has this because A) Xi can have you killed at the first wiff of corruption B) The whole government is very fearful of violent revolution at all times.
You need a massive amount of fear to get government workers who are not lazy pieces of shit it seems. Also there is just high pay. The cream of the crop there goes into government and not private buisness. Very much the opposite in america.

>>149141268Alabama has been a major player in CFB since the 1920s. It's not like they just appeared out of nowhere or had one great year. They are a recognized CFB powerhouse, with a great history of winning, and two of the best coaches in history. CFB is also far more rigged now, like all sports, thanks to sports gambling exploding recently.
>>149141362They've had their down periods but the real problem is that the landscape of college football is fundamentally changing. Will they adapt? No doubt they will try but they can end up being the next Nebraska as the wealth of the fan base becomes increasingly important. Wisconsin has been found guilty of 139 minor recruiting violations. In addition to one year of probationary status, the coaches are prohibited from recruiting during a week period at the height of recruiting season. The program also must pay a laughably small token fine of $25,000.
USC's Director of Personnel, Max Stienecker, was also hit with a one year show cause penalty for his part in the violations while at Wisconsin.
The violations were discovered by Wisconsin's compliance staff, who reported the school to the NCAA.

>They are not the best education nor the lowest IQ required educationThey're going to play football, not learn. If they cared about education, then the Ivy League schools would be powerhouses again. >>149154881>They don't have an elite recruiting state.I also hate OSU, but let's not get too retarded
>>149155034Wrong again, my schoolโs last natty team had 0 players from Ohio. Youโre 0/2 now.
>>149155042yeah that kind of makes sense. They automatically get a ton of chances based on just being surrounded with shitty progarams. Its easy for people to discount this factor. Its not a factor that anyone likes to talk about.
For example I think the patriots dynasty was PRIMARILY built on the fact that they were in a division with the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, And New York Jets. All three teams basically sucked absolute dick for almost the entirety of Tom Bradys career. And while Tom is the Goat and everything. When you are automatically in the playoffs every year it makes the statistical chances of things going your way just increase and increase. People don't like thinking about probabilities and instead would rather say the team that wins is just the better team. Not that the team that won might have lost 7/10 times that game was played.
>>149155097The elite recruting states are Florida, texas, jawja, california. Ohio is firmly in a lower tier but its definitly not shit tier.
>>149155163Florida, Texas and California are divided between many teams. aOSU gets Ohio all to themselves, only Georgia is in a better position. LSU is right there with them.
>>149155163blohio is 5th at worst
>>149155163There are so many OL and LB from Ohio
>>149155145>Tom is the GoatEh, I could debate that. His post-season & Owl stats aren't as good as people think. Some of his rings are fraudulent and others completely luck based. He also constantly had a top 10 defense his entire career almost. Getting 6 free wins every year from your division definitely helps your odds of winning a ring. If you put similar great QBs (Manning, Brees, Big Ben, etc.) on those NE teams, they'd have a ton of rings too.
>>149155172That is only true when teams like USC and Texas are weak. When USC and Texas are strong then they control their state and become juggernaughts. Same whenever any Florida team gains in-state dominance there is a natty coming. It does make sense for Ohio to be perennial contenders based on having no in state competition and a pretty good state talent wise.
I really hope that whatever happens with college football they at least try to preserve traditional recruiting pipelines and make in-state recrutes count less against your rev-share budget or something.
>>149154881>they have a quick trigger finger on firing coaches and will just keep rapidly firing coaches until they winThey've had three head coaches in the last 25 years, which is less than most programs and they've all won national titles. How are you this retarded? Here, you dropped this.
>>149155172>aOSU gets Ohio all to themselvesMajor factor in Ohio State's constant success. Not only does it help with recruiting but also fan support and money when you have an entire state behind you. It's a bit ridiculous a state with almost 12 million people only has 1 P4 program (Cincinnati's Big 12 promotion is too recent to make them count, for most of their history they were in lower level conferences). There are plenty of smaller states split between multiple P4 schools.
If another Ohio program joined the B1G at the same time Ohio State did it would have made instate recruiting harder and siphoned away a chunk of that fan support and money. Even if Ohio State was still clearly the better program an instate rival could have runs where they surpass them or pull off the occasional meme upset that ruins a season. Look at Michigan and sharty for a comparison in a similar state.
>>149155936Several states are ruled by one school: Ohio State, ND, Michigan, Georgia, Penn State
I still say the all the bottom dwellers in those kinds of states should switch to running non-traditional offenses. Would at least give them a better chance since it puts opponents on a very short time to practice for something new instead of 12 straight weeks against the same Spread Offense.

>>149156448>By not positing a greater quarterback?A case can be made for or against plenty of QBs. Manning & Brees were better regular season QBs for example. If you gave Brees a Top 10 defense for nearly his entire career, I guarantee he would have won several rings. Just like if you gave Brady a bottom 5 defense like Brees had for a lot of his career, he wouldn't have won as many.
>Stats donโt win games.I'm saying that people think Brady was some post-season GOAT, which he wasn't. His defense and kicking carried him to a couple rings. Weird people won't admit this, but will admit that the Broncos' defense carried Manning to a ring.
>Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunityCompletely skipped over the fraudulent part I see. Luck meaning that he played in a shit division as compared to the AFC North for example, which usually has 3 strong teams.
>His win percentage out of the AFC East was the same as inside itThe AFC East was notoriously bad during his time in NE. This is a simple fact. Other divisions were much tougher. Again, it just doesn't compare to having Bama, Tennessee, FSU, UF, Miami, and Clemson right across the borders. Just saying, you can't compare the stranglehold OSU has on their own state to what UGA has had to deal with.
Also Georgia Tech beat out UGA for an in-state 4* OL earlier this year. They're definitely more of a pest than they've been in years.

>>149156905The portal has changed things much more than NIL has. Until there is a mechanism to keep kids at schools the on field football is going to suffer because coaches are constantly dumbing down their systems where they can be installed in the least amount of time because 60% of their offense or defense was at some school the previous year.
>>149160365It's only the lingo that you have to dumb down. 99% of the teams all run the same shit.
>>149160365Roster churn is a bigger problem for offenses than defenses, which is one reason defenses are catching up to offenses and getting better at stopping them. Chemistry, teamwork and a better understanding of the playbook are more valuable to offensive players. Defensive players still benefit from these but they aren't hurt as much without them. Man coverage is man coverage, cover 2 is cover 2, rush the QB is rush the QB. This is especially true along the LOS, where continuity is a huge deal for OLs but doesn't really matter for DLs.
>>149160396I would bet that the biggest problem is if your offensive line is new or a hodge podge of transfers since that's really the only unit working as one on the field. I think you'd be fine if the majority of them are corn fed whites.
>>149160537Being a cohesive unit and knowing everyone's tendencies is definitely the hardest thing with all the transferring. You end up lacking when combo blocking & moving to the second level, pulls, switches, pickups, pass offs, etc.O-line can easily fall apart if everyone isn't playing as one unit.

>>149156627>A case can be made for or against plenty of QBs.The only possible one is Mahomes. That's only one.
>Manning & Brees were better regular season QBs for example. The question was greatest. Not regular season greatest. Greatest. Both of those QBs were postseason chokers, so even if they're slightly better than Brady in the regular season it doesn't matter.
>If you gave Brees a Top 10 defense for nearly his entire career, I guarantee he would have won several rings. As stated above, what happens in your head is irrelevant. Though we have several examples of Brees having top 10 defenses and he accomplished nothing with any of them. And you're again acting like the QB has nothing to do with how the defense plays. Brees was notorious for scoring quickly in the fourth quarter and leaving way too much time on the clock, allowing the other team to have the ball against his gassed defenses. Brady and Manning were far better at this.
>I'm saying that people think Brady was some post-season GOAT, which he wasn't.He absolutely was. You're saying this based on statlines, which as I just said are irrelevant. The object of the game isn't to maximize passer rating and whichever other irrelevant measures you like, it's to win. Brady contributed to winning more consistently than any other QB ever.
>His defense and kicking carried him to a couple rings. You can't really argue this for any of his rings. Even the 2001 team was the worst team in the NFL before he started and went 11-3 with a first round bye, and he led the game-winning drive in the super bowl.
>Weird people won't admit this, but will admit that the Broncos' defense carried Manning to a ring. What's weird about it? Brady was one of the best QBs in the league every season he played, while Manning was the worst in 2015. I have no doubt his leadership played a role in that ring, but definitely not his passing.
>>149156627>>149164278>Completely skipped over the fraudulent part I see.You didn't even name which ring you thought was fraudulent. Of course I skipped it.
>Luck meaning that he played in a shit division as compared to the AFC North for example, which usually has 3 strong teams.Brady was 12-4 against the Steelers, 7-2 against the Browns, 7-2 against the Bengals, and 10-8 against the Ravens. Every division was shit against Brady.
>The AFC East was notoriously bad during his time in NE. This is a simple fact. Why do you think this? Because Brady had a good record against them? Again, he had a good record against every division.
>Other divisions were much tougher. How so?
>If you swapped the Browns and Patriots, do you really think NE would have won the division so consistently? The answer is no.Hypothetical matchups are irrelevant.

Thamel updates on G5 realignment
>Pac 12: Texas State is likely it. Other schools are in the mix but Texas State is being talked as a certainty. They will offer before July 1st so it's a 5 million exit fee instead of 10 million. Memphis was discussed for football only but wouldn't be until 2027-28. TV deal likely under 10 million each but not too under
>Sun Belt: Already preparing for Texas State's exit. The two main candidates are Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky. Louisiana Tech is favored but not decided. They will pick one after Texas State's exit.
>C-USA: Already preparing for one of their school's exit to Sun Belt. Tarleton State moving to FBS is locked in as the main choice.

>>149222976C-USA not beating the Conference-FCS allegations
Also only reason Memphis is considering it is that this is on condition they get a Big East invite for non-football, so they'll be making more then PAC in this agreement and it'll hold until ACC opens up
>>149170233>half of ohio including the Cleveland/Akron area has the same climate type as most of the state of FloridaWho made this retarded shit
>>149222976>The two main candidates are Louisiana Tech and Western KentuckyWhy don't they pick someone from the CAA (when they picked up James Madison) or either OVC/Big South?
>>149223158If the Big East wants them, this is a great upgrade for Memphis, especially if the PAC is willing to let them be Gonzaga's football proxy.
>>149222976Weird that LA Tech would be favored over Western Kentucky. The Sun Belt already has two schools in Louisiana, do they really want a third one? Kentucky would be a new state for the conference but slightly easier travel for most of the members. The biggest negative against the Pillpoppers is that they have already been in the Sun Belt and left for what they thought were greener pastures. Middle Tennessee gave the Sun Belt the finger on the way out and likely never will ever be a candidate for expansion but I don't know how WKU's breakup with the Sun Belt went. LA Tech was also once a member but that breakup is less recent.
>>149162158COLD BEER ON A FRIDAY NIGHT
>>149224200I can't think of anyone who would be worth taking from the CAA. The only other team I can think of from the vintage CAA that I'd like in the Sun Belt is Delaware, but they don't really fit the geographic footprint of the sun belt that well (too far north)
>>149224200The FBS candidates are simply better and have more support and budget. Delaware was the last FCS program from the east worthwhile but they donโt fit in just yet. We are very past the era where Appalachian or James Madison were solid picks form FCS
>>149224549They are considering both but it to come down to several things
1. Natural rivalries with the Louisiana schools and Southern Miss, they are reported to be huge into rivalries because at that level they see a benefit to rivalries
2. Lower travel costs, which is also important at G5 level as they arenโt getting retarded size contracts the P4 are getting. Louisiana Tech replacing Texas State reduces costs for most schools.
3. Sun Belt still does divisions, and Louisiana Tech would simply replace Texas State. Western Kentucky would require a realignment of divisions and increased travel costs for some schools
>>149224200The CAA is disintegrating. Everyone of value has moved up, or moved to the Patriot League. JMU leaving encouraged Delaware to move up, and its been downhill since. W&M would definitely boost the conference academically and its expansion north, but just sucks at everything unfortunately.

Sacramento State has joined the Big West Conference as their primary conference, with the intention of moving their football program to FBS. The Big West is primarily made up of fellow California schools, so for most sports this is a good move. The Big Sky Conference had been the best home for their FCS football team but the spread out nature of the conference made it difficult for other sports.
Sac State is taking the space that had been occupied by nearby UC-Davis, which is leaving for the Mountain West in all sports but football, which will remain an affiliate member of the Big Sky Conference. At this time UCD has no announced plans to move football up to FBS.

The Sun Belt Conference has reached out to East Carolina about the possibility of them joining. ECU basically said they're not interested right now but might be in the future when the next round of realignment and media contracts happen.
Seems like a smart move. The American has a great media contract that was based on having members that have since departed for P4 conferences. The gap between them and the Sun Belt is large right now because of that contract. After the 2030 realignment, that gap likely will be gone.
My guess is that the P2 pull a very small number of schools from the ACC, which in turn raids the AAC, causing the conference to fall to near CUSA tier. School with options will leave. The rest will merge with CUSA. Schools like Sac State are laying the groundwork to be part of that merged conference.

>UCF's FBC Mortgage Stadium failed four of its health inspections during the fall 2024 season, according to health reports from the Florida Department of Health.
>The report from the FDH detailed a range of violations, including pest infestations, improper food storage and recurring sanitation issues such as repeated citations for food stands needing general cleaning โ raising food safety concerns during the 2024 football season.
The most prominent issues were found in the football stadium kitchen, where the main kitchen cooler was operating at a temperature too warm to be considered a safe temperature, with an ambient temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit. According to food safety standards, cold holding units should maintain food at or below 41 F, but all food inside the cooler was found above this limit.
>Walk-in coolers two and three were broken, with ambient temperatures of 58 F and 59 F. Both coolers were still in use for storing and thawing food, according to the notes from the health inspector.
>Due to this, the inspector noted seeing "rotten cilantro, jalapeรฑo peppers with fuzzy growth, bloated bags of shredded cheese and bloated half-and-half" in the main walk-in cooler under violation 13.
The inspection also uncovered signs of an active rodent infestation at Club Stand No. 100, according to violation 38. At the Spectra Food Service Stand No. 131, rat feces was spotted near the food warmers, noted under violation 38.
>Toxic cleaning chemicals were also being improperly stored alongside food items and dishes, posing a contamination risk, according to the report from the FDH.
>In addition, the inspector noted that the facility needed extensive cleaning.
>UCF encountered basic food safety violations as well, such as staff failing to properly wash their hands under violation 8 and not wearing hair nets while preparing and serving food under violation 40.

>>149277615Nah, the play for ECU is to add the Sun Belt teams that they actually want to play when the western front inevitably leaves the American.
No need to sign up for a conference consisting of UL Monroe, Arkansas State, etc. just because you want to play Old Dominion, James Madison, and Appalachian State. You're better off staying in a conference where your weakest link is Temple, and plucking those 3+ schools in the next round.
Your chain of expansion is...
>Power 2 (Big Ten + SEC) >Middle 2 (ACC + Big 12) >Best of G6 (American + Pac-12)>Regional G6 (MAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt)>Worst of G6 (C-USA)
>>149286520That sounds painful.
>>149286895Not really. My dermatologist is an obvious former whore who got fat in med school, she handles my cock with a little more interest than normal to the point where the nurse eyeballs me since women canโt be alone with a dick in the room flopping about. It stings a little bit, but doesnโt sting nearly as bad as when I smashed my cock between the toilet and seat. I did scream when they jammed a camera up my dick hole, but the urologist was a dude. He said unclench your ass. Didnโt help.
So I go back to his PA and she gives me cialis for it. Iโm like why, she says the extra blood flow will improve healing and tone down any urinary issues. I go back a few months later to talk to her, she asks for a visual inspection, sure, but she doesnโt bring a nurse is. She just pokes around and squeezes a bit.
The cialis prescription never ended. I just sell it to undergrads.
>>149287198>they jammed a camera up my dick holeYep, I think Iโm staying volcel.
