I only lost interest with a handful of genres. Puzzle, card, fighting and shooter games all get old without a multiplayer aspect.
Stuff like RPG,horror, action adventure, strategy, platforming, life sim, mystery, it doesnt really add shit and often even over complicate their systems. A strong example with this is RPGs where very early on you will fall very far behind if you dont follow the optimal build, PvP or not. Or with Mystery, horror where youre likely gonna be constantly pulled out of the experience because you gotta communicate offscript a bunch.
