Most of the strong sorceries don't feel particularly special compared to Raider jump L1, Wylder nukes, Ironeye's bullshit, or Executor piling status then mashing through attacks in his fursuit in a solo context. Most of those characters can afford to get hit, Ironeye's typically doing less committal attacks with even better defensive tools than Recluse's amazing dodge, and they all stagger more often.
I think Recluse is the most fun solo character because she has the most variance in her gameplan, but that hot-or-cold nature combined with being made of paper makes her the "worst", even if she's still strong. Unless your preferred context is clear time over consistency; Guardian feels difficult to lose with, but he's the only character I've seen Everdark's phase change attack twice with after multiple clears on every character. Everyone else feels about the same.
