Season cold opens and follows Piper, NuTennant and multiple characters all doing Doctor esque things and you don't find out until the end of the episode who the new Doctor is.

Resulting 'real' Doctor wakes up in the anti-matter dimension trapped by the real Omega; everything during and after Whitaker's regen was all a dream. Doctor somehow manages to defeat Omega and escape but is now angry and confused over the non-existence of his dream family; this defines his aloof personality over the rest of the season as he learns to open up and determine what he believes is real.
