i dislike individualism and grinding too. i don't like image-based culture today where everything's about keeping up appearances. it's like being encouraged into becoming a meme and getting meme levels of success. it doesn't feel organic. feels like going down a social presence pipeline. everybody ends up being their own wacky personalities but it doesn't feel like there's any difference amongst everyone. for example i was looking at some twitter artist earlier and i thought to myself this looks like so much zoomer art. buoyant, bubbly, oversexualized, and with some "alternative" styling choices. the art isn't bad. it's drawn well, expressive and all but everybody makes so much of the same art. it's like going down some memetic pipeline, like this is an online patreon artist. this is how they draw. add some relatable meme comments to your posts. rinse and repeat.
