its just a border guard they didnt 'expect' to do anything buy shoot the shit for a few hours and then go back to base to let the next shift have its turn. also its an extremely dusty environment the chances of an M2 mounted on top of the gun working after driving for a bit are very small, you'd have to cover it up from dust somehow.
