I would consider Nioh or Rise of the Ronin to be the games most easily comparable to just on a pure gameplay basis. I also just got done playing Rise of the Ronin last month with the pc port so I'm coming off from that game which I think had vastly superior combat. They are both parry heavy games with similar combat but RotR simply had way more variety despite every enemy basically being human in the game. The different weapon types and styles added way more substance and variety to the game than beta / burst skills. Even Nioh 1 which came out in 2017 had a better gameplay flow.

Stellar Blade's biggest flaw is that there is simply no variety in how you fight or approach fights. Burst skills don't add anything of substamce, they are just stronger versions of beta skills that use a separate meter but it does nothing to change up encounters like how switching to a different weapon or stance does like in Nioh or RoTR.

Also fuck actual fromsoft souls games, they all have janky ass combat.
