You don't live in Japan, rofl.
>Jurassic World
$75M in Japan. Monster hit, including legs in summer. That's more than any MCU movie has ever done there. Hell, more than The Force Awakens in Japan.
>Fallen Kingdom
$72M. Basically identical.
>Dominion
$46M despite franchise fatigue and pandemic-era hesitance.

Rebirth has right now grossed $648M worldwide. It's tracking to break $700M next weekend and then $800M too and that's without counting Japan. And you're telling me that a legacy franchise with a proven audience in Japan, dropping weeks into Infinity Castle's run, won't steal showtimes and general audience share? You've got better odds arguing Ghibli doesn’t matter.

These films absolutely matter to the Japanese box office. Anyone living "20 years" in Japan should know that. Even Yahoo Japan articles says Jurassic World will be a threat to Demon Slayer. You're just mad you're losing the narrative.

Superman is in its second week in Japan with limited rollout and a culturally non-dominant IP. And despite that? It charted Top 3, with great per-screen averages and raked in $2.5M. Kokuhou (which is also playing on 277 theaters and has a culty audience) is heavily legging, that's normal for mid-sized Japanese hits. But it's not some "death blow" proof. Now add the fact that Superman is cleaning house globally:
>$400M+ in under 3 weeks.
>$235M DOM and $171M Int'l.
That's already more than Mugen Train ever made in a whole year, rofl. And it's on track to pass $500M.
