The fact they have a hospital and medicine at all points at their biology being different from Undertale monsters don't it?
The impression I got was that they didn't have any illness other than "falling down" preceding death because their bodies are just magic. In Deltarune magic doesn't even exist outside of the dark world, and Rudy is receiving treatment instead of just waiting for him to dust like the true lab monsters.
