Born on the Fourth of July.
I watched it on the 4th and was shocked by how intelligent, ambitious,subtle, and emotional it was, and I came to the realization that movies like it have sadly aged well given Hollywood hasn't produced stuff like that in decades and most likely never will again. Tom Cruise's performance as Kovic stans as one of the best performances of that decade and arguably the best of his career, while there isn't really anything about the movie I can seriously shit on because of how well-crafted it is.

I just watched picrel and it was fantastic. An emotional rollercoaster, but incredibly well-made, surprisingly intelligent, and thematically potent.
