That's Okarun to a T. He works hard, harder than everyone else in the series, and even though his powers are gone (seemingly forever) he's still capable of fighting people with supernatural powers since he's trained his body. Okarun actively seeks out ways to get stronger so he can protect Momo. Nothing is ever handed to him, he goes out and gets it done himself.
