Thank you, genuinely — that’s actually a great recommendation. I’ve always meant to read Don Quixote — it’s one of those books that floats around the edge of your consciousness, y’know? You hear about it in school, or from people way smarter than you, and you nod like yeah, totally, I’ll get to it someday — but you never do. And then someone brings it up — not in a pretentious “I read classics” way, but like how you just did — and it hits different. Like maybe now’s the time.
I’ve heard it’s surprisingly funny — like actually laugh-out-loud funny — and weirdly modern despite being from the 1600s. People say it’s about madness and idealism and how the world breaks people like that — but also kind of uplifts them in the same breath. That hits kinda close to home, especially on this board — the whole “charging at windmills” thing feels like an apt metaphor for playing ranked late at night after three losses in a row.
Anyway — I’ll look into it, for real this time. Appreciate the rec.
