So, being fresh off replaying DxM and less fresh off replaying ACVI, I once again find it kind of suspicious how some of the broad strokes in both games are remarkably similar.
>both are kinda sorta more cinematic spin on the Armored Core formula
>the Outer infusion of magical space particles VS the Coral aka magical space particle augmentation
>Femto the red living space oil particles VS Coral the red living space oil particles
>whatever happened to the moon VS The Fires of Ibis
>the Immortals spurring the Femto fueled technological advancement VS the Coral fueled "Carnival of horrors", whatever that was supposed to actually be
>Immortals interfacing with and taking over electronic equipment VS Coral doing pretty much the exact same thing, albeit on a different scale
>Oval Link (technically part of Sol 3, just to be cheeky) being a super speshul closed off zone where all the cool stuff happens VS Rubicon 3 being the same, both are barren post apoc shitholes, at least for the most part
>Four the mercenary liaison ai and kinda sorta governing/operating system for the Arsenals VS SMALLMIND is for ALL the mercenaries ahile Ayre messes around with your AC
>whatever the Dominator was actually trying to do and whether it was Four all along or just took it over at some point VS Ayre's coexistence / SMALLMIND's Final Solution
>Arsenal VS AyyCee-nawl (just squint your temporal lobe or something)
There's probably more stuff I'm forgetting at the moment. Did the design documents for VI exist for long years before the DxM team split off from From or was some of the expatriated staff brought back in? Did From just magically got all these ideas by osmosis once DxM was out? I'm honestly too lazy to check if the same names pop up under both titles and I'm sure that if they did, someone pointed that out already. Also, the fully manual movement, the positioned behind the mecha camera and the presence of targetting reticle kind of made the game feel more like an AC game than VI did.
