Dogbolds and it's not even close. Yes I know they were originally described as scaly. Yes I know that the doglike interpretation is a Japanese idiosyncracy. Don't really care though. I like them better. Lizardmen and snakemen already exist and serve any need I might have for scaly tribal monsters just fine. Dogbolds, meanwhile, are human's best friend.
