No. If you want to have bunch of rotted mush at the the bottom layers, you water them every day. You can also use those Oak leaves as mulch to protect the soil from direct sunlight and that will lessen the evaporation effect. Once every other day is perfectly fine for containers. Even less if you don't add in perlite into your mix to provide better drainage.
You'd want use your own soil mix in these(picture) types of "pots". Literally 0 need to buy bags of compost/soil to fill them each time if you have access to your own compost/soil source. Which I assume you do due to in ground growing.
