I specifically said those with high intelligence are *less likely* to experience emotional dysregulation disorders for this reason. I didn't say it was particularly because of their intelligence; I just pointed out the correlation.
But also, in this specific context, causation is evidenced and explained with data. Correlation doesn't always equal causation, but also it's not impossible to prove causation. So now I am saying it.

And heightened intelligence grants you the better ability to manage those emotions and, ostensibly, solve problems, per the study I linked.
