>According to you we should have split them up because it got stale.
ATLA did many episodes that put different combinations of characters together. In fact, every episode that had Zuko paired with a Gaang member was great, hence Toph's joke about it
>When the story is plot-driven, you don't want to waste time trying to introduce characters to one another. Again, you're making a massive assumption that juat because you put Big and Shadow together it'll be entertaining because it's unconventional. It would be boring and lack substance.
Firstly, not all stories are plot driven, some are character driven. Secondly, my argument against this is Sonic Rivals 2. That game had no business putting Silver and Espio together and yet it works and remains a pretty good pairing for a character who only has him or Blaze to pick from. Shadow and Metal are similarly fondly remembered.
>And once you remember who writes the comics and games...
I don't discount ideas just on the premise of "well Ian would fuck it up so there goes that"
Plus, Ian doesn't ALWAYS fuck everything up. His Sonic in Frontiers is perfect and Shadow Generations is pretty good for the most part. So in a game where clearly ST takes it a little more seriously, it can be good.
