I'm always shocked by how lazy playoids are. I know dudes with college degrees content to be a delivery guy or security guard.
They do quirky free spirit behavior that normally only pretty young women are allowed to get away with. EG that game where they want reminders to do things but if you remind them too hard/often they rebel and flake. And it's just not cool/quirky anymore if you're 30 and randomly sleep until noon or go incommunicado for a month.
The lack of research is insane to me too. Especially in 2025. You could pull up a free quickstart rules PDF during a bus ride or put on a lore video while you do your dishes. (Though I suppose this may have to do with smartphone brain. When I was first gaming in the 00's I felt like it was the opposite problem. Players would buy/pirate every imaginable splatbook and want to use some pretty insane combos and obscure factions even if you just wanted a basic campaign.)
