Not quite, back in the 80s Magical girls weren't like Sailor Moon or Sakura Card Captors, They didn't have a set "look/suit/uniform" it was more like they transformed every episode into something different for example the protagonist visits a farm there is a problem with the cattle so she transforms into a cowgirl to help the ranchers, or has to sneak into a school so transforms into a teacher to do the good deed, etc.
